DavesWagon.com Launches!

Welcome, everyone!

It’s official. I’ve smashed the ceremonial bottle of champagne over the bow of this site and sent it sliding down the skids into the churning sea that is the Internet. I mean this allegorically, of course. I’m guzzling said champagne as we speak.

Anyway, alcohol binging aside, I’m quite pleased with the way this new site has shaped up so far. It’s exceedingly simple, which is what a good website should be. No ads. No useless links. Nothing without a purpose. Furthermore, I’ve kept the orange-toned color palette from the old blog to maintain that classic, Dave’s Wagon feel. It’s like we never even moved! (except now I have a $200 credit card bill for two years of hosting and domain name registration). That’s gonna sting for awhile.

Ah, comments. Registration is no longer required for this. Just type in your name and email and post away. I know a few of you Wagoneers from the old site have never joined the discussion because of the registration hassle. That problem is no more. You are now free to comment. Do note, however, that I have some moderate comment spam filtering on. At the moment, I believe this is limited to holding comments that contain more than one hyperlink in limbo until I approve them. Therefore, if you want your comment to be seen right away, do not throw in ten links to your favorite YouTube videos.

That’s all for now. I’d invite you all to have a look around the site, but there really isn’t much of a site yet. That will change soon. I’ll post a few more entries in the coming week on how to use the RSS feed and on what the unifying theme of this new site will be.

Until then, for the love of God, don’t break anything! It took me forever to get that sidebar the way I like it!
